Oil change I have a 04 Jeep Cherokee. I got the oil changed 100 miles before it was due. So now service?

the service engine comes on in a little black box that is on top of my windshield. Plus it chimes when I start the car. How do I reset it to the new oil change? Thank youOil change I have a 04 Jeep Cherokee. I got the oil changed 100 miles before it was due. So now service?
The procedure to reset the service interval light should be in the owners manual. It normally takes some crazy actions like %26quot;turn on the lights, open the door, press the brake pedal twice and sing dixie%26quot;....to reset it. Normally one of the cheap parts stores can help you with this. Go to autozone, etc. and get them to double check the code. They can help you find other things like a loose gas cap. If they tell you anything major, get a second opinion.Oil change I have a 04 Jeep Cherokee. I got the oil changed 100 miles before it was due. So now service?
It's supposed to light up and chime (chime in some cars, not all) at startup as a way of telling you it's still working. Not because you need an oil change.

Or if its not turning off, maybe you need work done to your car... it IS a Jeep afterall.Oil change I have a 04 Jeep Cherokee. I got the oil changed 100 miles before it was due. So now service?
The SERVICE ENGINE light is the MIL light. This is telling you that there is a problem with the vehicle and it needs to be checked by a professional technician.Oil change I have a 04 Jeep Cherokee. I got the oil changed 100 miles before it was due. So now service?
Reset the speedo. Read the manual or ask another Jeep owner on how to do it. It is similar to setting a wrist watch.
