The best solution is to park it in a garage. Otherwise, cover the windshield with a sheet of Visqueen (plastic) when you put it up for the night, or an old blanket or bedsheet. electric Interior car warmers that have been approved to be used for this application by the appropriate agencys and Personal , have been used for this purpose ,installed in a SAFE location inside the vehicle . This not only keeps the frost off of the windshield , it also maintains the inside of the vehicle quite warm , thereby enjoying a cosy warm interior during cold weather startups. These can be purchased for around 20 bucks and the saving would be unnecessary engine idling until the vehicle engine warms up.

A sheet of visqueen cut out to a few inches larger than the windshield. It doesn't have the tendency to freeze to the glass. There is one available in auto stores that has magnets on it to hold it in place.
