How do I get my 1966 Lincoln Continental to run better?

How can I get my 1966 Lincoln Continental to run smoother?

It has 68k original miles. Bought the car for $1900 and it runs but nothing else work (windows, clock, lights, etc). Just some surface rust. I changed, plugs, wires, rotors. Just bought a fuel pump, high volume oil pump and water pump. Every mechanic says it runs strong but I would like for it to run smoother!

Other than rebuilding the engine (Because the engine runs strong and its Mileage) what other things can I change out on it to have it run better before I rebuild the front end and paint it? And also where can I get the parts from?

Also, if you have a front windshield let me know Email: emeka2345@aol.comHow do I get my 1966 Lincoln Continental to run better?
You don't mention which engine you have, but, I had an old Lincoln with a 460 and it took a new carburetor to make her run right. As the old sayin' goes, She would pass anything but a gas station after that. Good Luck! How do I get my 1966 Lincoln Continental to run better?
Replace it with a 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. How do I get my 1966 Lincoln Continental to run better?
Check all your vacuum hoses for cracks and leaks...do the basics by testing the compression first and making sure you do not have a low cylinder causing the engine to not run smoothly....then take your 400 lb suicide door and smash that ol 72 Monte into the ground.....jk....good luckHow do I get my 1966 Lincoln Continental to run better?
In 1966, engines didn't have a lot of electronic controls, so 'rough idle' was a common problem. Basically, this is a Ford product, so you might be able to retrofit it with throttle body fuel injection and electronic ignition. Check for vacuum leaks and have the compression tested. This is important, because you might have some leaky or sticky valves, carbon buildup which raises compression or variations between cylinders. Check out the electrical system before you invest much more in the car. Also be sure the distributor cap is clean and that the distributor vacuum advance is working.

Finally, keep in mind that this car was probably designed to run on high octane, leaded (premium) gas. That is a problem, because it has probably been de-tuned to use lower octane unleaded. As I recall, unleaded gas also causes excessive wear on the valve stems and guides. If you want to keep it all original, for show, then you probably don't want to upgrade the engine and go to fuel injection. If you want to drive it daily, the improved fuel economy should be a good reason to modernize the engine controls. Look for parts from a later model, with the same size engine. How do I get my 1966 Lincoln Continental to run better?
being a mel (mercury, edsel, lincoln) block engine, if it were me i would just replace the carburetor with a 600 cfm edelbrock if the compression test checks out. if it doesnt then pull the engine and build a 460 for it. youll be in much less money building a 460 than a mel block. How do I get my 1966 Lincoln Continental to run better?

How interchangeable are windshield wiper motors?

I drive a 96 Buick Park Ave, and my windshield wiper motor recently gave out. Living in Central New York, this is um .. rather unideal for me.

I took my car over to Midas, and they wanted to charge me 250 dollars to change out the motor. And I didn't pay it. I took my car, and squinted my way home through the rain.

I'll probably go to a pick and pull and try to change them myself. But do I have to find my exact same car, or a Buick to make this happen? Or are they just a generic car part? How interchangeable are windshield wiper motors?
They may be common to more than one GM model but you'd have to research the numbers to find out. If you've never changed a wiper motor, you'll wish you'd paid the $250, by the time you're through fighting with it.How interchangeable are windshield wiper motors?
Check with GM to see if the part numbers are the same. If you've never done one of these, I'd suggest paying the money. If you have, good luck. How interchangeable are windshield wiper motors?
Here ya go!

Used for less than $50 bucks and you can see they are rather easy to change out.

Typically three 12mm bolts and a simple electrical plug in for the controls.

  • Auto Repair - Windshield and Side Mirror - Where do I take it?

My car has a busted side-view mirror and an enormous crack in the windshield. The crack was a dime sized dot for two days, then a cold snap hit and now it's across the whole bottom part of the windshield. I never had time to take it to be fixed, which is really irritating, since now it looks like I'll have to have the whole windshield replaced. The mirror probably will be too. The glass is completely gone and the frame is severely cracked. Argh.

Anyway, I don't know anything about cars except how to put gas in them and change a tire. Do I take this to a body shop? The dealer? About what should I expect to pay? I have a cheap insurance policy with a high deductible so I'm expecting to cover most of the cost out of pocket.Auto Repair - Windshield and Side Mirror - Where do I take it?
You might be able to find a used mirror assembly in an auto salvage yard. They're fairly easy to replace. For the windshield, you'll have to go to an auto glass shop. Find one in your local phone book.Auto Repair - Windshield and Side Mirror - Where do I take it?
take it to a glass shop. A glass shop can install a new windshield and the windshield cannot get wet for 24 hours to allow time for the urethane sealing glue to set.

this is a sealing glue they put around the windshield.

now as for the door mirror , first things first , call your dealer , give them your VIN number and ask if a replacement glass is available and if not , price out the entire mirror head.

then price out the labor to change it. From there you can call around to a wrecking yard and get a used mirror and then call an independent garage for the labor .

next time you have a small crack in your windshield , call a glass shop , they can repair the crack and the insurance company will pay for it completely.

prices vary so quoting prices here would not be possible.Auto Repair - Windshield and Side Mirror - Where do I take it?
My company provides auto glass referrals throughout the United States, we can help with this.

If your deductible is high, you'll probably have to pay. If you tell me year/make/model, I can give you an estimate.

    Pre-owned certified vehicle problem?

I bought a Pre-owned Manufacture certified car, the day after I found some cosmetic dents on body, a crack on windshield and a crack on tail light, when I went back to the dealer, they accept to refill the windshield crack(instead of replacing) , change the light and repair the dents (painting that parts),

I didn't accept because the vehicle they sold me did not meet Manufacture certified policy and after painting some parts it will loose the value that I already paid, how can I deal with them? do you think I need to see a lawyer? (Thanks for your time, reading and answering my question)Pre-owned certified vehicle problem?
You're not likely to have any kind of success whatsoever. And unless you bought a Certified Pre-Owned Maybach, no attorney worth hiring is going to help your for less than the cost of repairs you're out, presuming they exceed small claims limitations in the relevant jurisdiction to begin with.

Repeat after me... unless there's been some kind of fraud or lapse in legally-required safety item, ALL CAR PURCHASES ARE FINAL.

%26quot;Certified%26quot; pre-owned programs cover what the manufacturer will repair under warranty, not any purely cosmetic about the vehicle or, in the mother of all grasp at straws, potential future resale values which you have absolutely no way to quantifiably prove.

Once the dealer has corrected any legally-required safety deficiencies, anything further they may do is going to be based solely upon whatever customer service principles they happen to have. It won't be based upon anything they're %26quot;obligated%26quot;, or that you can compel them, to do.

Any success you're likely to have motivating them to perform further repairs will come from appealing to any sense of integrity they might have or any practical benefit you can demonstrate they would gain from doing so.

The time to find cosmetic defects was before accepting final delivery... hence the term %26quot;final%26quot;.

Best of luck. I hope this helps.

    kg 路 km/h opposite the car's motion

    (b) What is the change of momentum of the fly due to the car?

    (c) Approximately how many flies does it take to reduce the car's speed by 1 km/h?

    flies

How do i solve these problems? I am terrible at this stuff and hopefully i can get the answer step by step. thanksPhysics- A stationary 0.1 g fly encounters the windshield of a 1400 kg automobile traveling at 100 km/h.?
    (a) Momentum b4 collision = Momentum after collision

mass (fly) x velocity + mass (car) x velocity = combined mass x combined velocity

    (0.1g x 0m/s) + (1400000g x 100000m/s) = 1400000.1g x final velocity)

Its now up to you to finish it as I dont a calcualtor with me!!Just find the final velocity ( remember I used every measurement in metres and grams!!)

    (b) Take the momentum it had before the collision which is 0gm/s

Take the final velocity in (a) and multiply it by the mass of the fly whereby you'll get the final momentum...

Find the difference between the two which will equal the final momentum anyway as we are starting with no momentum...

    (c) Intorduce y to be the no. of flies....

    [(0.1g x y) x 0m/s] + (1400000g x 100000m/s) = [1400000 + (0.1g x y)] x final velocity in (a)

    Hence solve for y......

I could have done more to help but I cant bcoz I dont have a calculator with me!!Physics- A stationary 0.1 g fly encounters the windshield of a 1400 kg automobile traveling at 100 km/h.?

What is the change in momentum of the driver as he comes to a stop?

A car traveling at a speed of 18m/s (approximately 40 MPH) crashes into a solid concrete wall. The driver has a mass of 90 kg.

    a) what is the change in momentum of the driver as he comes to a stop?

    b) what impulse is required in order to produce this change in momentum?

    c) how does the application and magnitude of this force differ in two cases: the first, in which the driver is wearing a seatbelt and the second in which he is not wearing a seat belt and is stopped instead by contact with the windshield and steering column? will the time of action of the stopping force change? explain..

I would really much appreciate it. points to any answers given :)What is the change in momentum of the driver as he comes to a stop?
    a) change in momentum = change in speed x mass

    b) Impulse is a force acting over a period of time that equals the change in momentum. You haven't specified a time interval in which the driver is brought to a halt so this can't be worked out.

See this web page for more details and worked examples

    http://www.physics247.com/physics-homewo

    c) The seat belt gives which means the time taken to stop the driver is longer. Hence the force is smaller (remember F x t = Impulse) than if the driver hits the interior of the car, as that won't give as much as the seat belt. What is the change in momentum of the driver as he comes to a stop?
    a)

    Momemtum = mass * velocity.

At 18 m/s what is his momentum? What is it a 0 m/s? That is your change in momentum

    b)

    I = impulse, F = force, p = momentum, t = time, d = %26quot;delta%26quot; or %26quot;change in...%26quot;

    I = 鈭?(F)dt, and F = dp/dt

    I = 鈭?(dp/dt)*dt

    I = 鈭?dp

    I = change in momentum

Impulse required to cause that change in momentum is equal to that change in momentum.

    c)

Yes (I think). It should take more time for him to travel forward into the windshield/steering wheel then it will take for the seatbelt to reach its maximum stretching distance.

This be a conservation of momentum problem.

So momentum before = momentum after.

first of all, km/h needs to be converted to m/s. I'm gonna do the conversion quickly, and the speed is 27.778

    So .1 * 0 + 1200 * 27.778 = (1200 + .1) ( x )

    Solve for X = 27.775 m/s.

The new momentum can be found independently using the newfound x.

    A) the CHANGE is 3.6 kg m/s

    B) the CHANGE is 2.7775 kg m/s

    C)

    Using the same equation. 1200 * 27.778 = (1200 + x) * (.2777)

And solve for x. I got roughly 118800.96 flies would need to hit your car in order to slow it down 1 km/h.

    P.S in the last problem, i changed 1 km/h to m/s.

When they pull right out in front of you on the road? I noticed a sign that said %26quot;Not responsible for broken windshields%26quot; and %26quot;Stay back 200 feet%26quot;. This was sitting behind him at a redlight. I had one that pulled out right in front of me on the Interstate and when I tried to change lanes to avoid the rocks he was slinging, a big rock still hit my windshield and broke it. Oil change I have a 04 Jeep Cherokee. I got the oil changed 100 miles before it was due. So now service?

The procedure to reset the service interval light should be in the owners manual. It normally takes some crazy actions like %26quot;turn on the lights, open the door, press the brake pedal twice and sing dixie%26quot;....to reset it. Normally one of the cheap parts stores can help you with this. Go to autozone, etc. and get them to double check the code. They can help you find other things like a loose gas cap. It's supposed to light up and chime (chime in some cars, not all) at startup as a way of telling you it's still working. Not because you need an oil change.

Or if its not turning off, maybe you need work done to your car... it IS a Jeep afterall.Oil change I have a 04 Jeep Cherokee. I got the oil changed 100 miles before it was due. So now service?

Reset the speedo. Read the manual or ask another Jeep owner on how to do it. It is similar to setting a wrist watch.

I am wondering how i can change the little stickers that go on the windshield (This one is State P.B.A. it is OK) from my old car on the windshield, to my new car. They are transparent and have the glue, and i need to figure out how to remove it and preserve the stickiness so i can put it on my new windshield.

I -may- be able to peel it off.... is there any way to assist the peeling? Does it peel off better if it is hot or cold? Or will water help?

This is a sentimental PBA Sticker, and unfortunately the other car went to car heaven and the windshiels are NOT interchangeable (they completely different cars, like Ferraris and GMCs) so I wonder how to do this, any tips or tricks to help me not mess it up.

It might be your washer fluid that is the issue. My dad used a can of Coca Cola after visiting the beach to remove the film!

Anyway, I use a mixture of dishsoap and alcohol, which is used in eye glass cleaner. Most all commercial products use alcohol in their products as well. At the very least, clean your glass with straight alcohol to break down the film and then use Rain X which does indeed work well and for a long period of time.

yeah, Rain-X is magical stuff. God bless the inventor of it. One time, my windshield wiper motor stopped working so I couldn't use the wipers. I went and bought Rain-X and wiped it on kind of heavy. After that, I didn't even need to repair the wiper motor, the Rain-X was that good. Though, I must say I don't recommend/endorse you to do the same thing. Maybe I was just lucky....I think so. I only did it because I didn't have the time or money to repair the motor.

A bottle of Windshield Wiper Fluid was left in my car's back seat and burst from the heat. How do I clean it??

I bought a bottle of windshield wiper fluid when I got my car to get the battery changed. However, I was stupid enough to forget about the fluid in my back seat and the whole bottle burst the next day because the car was out in the sun the entire day. all the fluid got on my floor mats and the rug on the back seat. Everything dried and the entire car smells like alcohol every time I get in. Also, the back rug/mat turned blue. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to get the blue off from the mat and the floor? This is very embarrassing and I feel very stupid for forgetting the bottle in the back seat.

Thanks!A bottle of Windshield Wiper Fluid was left in my car%26039;s back seat and burst from the heat. How do I clean it??
you can take and shampoo all of this and that should get the majority of it out,it might be permanently stained though on somethings ,usually when alcohol sets a stain in like that, its sort of hard to get out,id try a real good shampoo first though, and hopefully all of it will come out, don't feel bad though i had a can of starting fluid blow up in one of my vehicles,it sounded like the car blew up when it went off and it was sitting in plain site too,it only got up to 98 degrees out side that day ,but way hotter in the car, good luck with it hope this helps.A bottle of Windshield Wiper Fluid was left in my car%26039;s back seat and burst from the heat. You don't give enough information but here is a rule of thumb. Take the affected mats out, let them air dry, do the same with the car, open the doors and let it air out for a while. At least a day, try using a solution of a bit of Dawn Dishwashing detergent and some water, wash the area thouroughly and allow to dry. Once that is done spray some fabreeze on all the upholstery. It should make everything look like new.A bottle of Windshield Wiper Fluid was left in my car%26039;s back seat and burst from the heat. How do I clean it??
Milo You should have kept it all in the trunk ,would you keep gasoline in the rear seating area? Dude like we all say got a clue? Why do vehicles all have trunks in them? The bottom line is you should keep all fluids in the garage and not in the car and the only things to keep in a trunk is the spare tire a set of jumper cables and emergency items like flares in case of any breakdowns. My oh my people just never learn from any of us do they ? How do you change a rear view mirror on a 1993 ford explorer?

how do you take out the mounting bracket you glue to the windshieldHow do you change a rear view mirror on a 1993 ford explorer?
One half of the mounting bracket is glued to the windshield. The other half slides into it and is locked in place by a small set screw. Loosen the set screw with the appropriate size Allen or Torx wrench and slide the mirror off the mounting plate. The mounting bracket stays in place because it's glued to the windshield. If you need to remove the glued on mounting plate, You could probably try heating the bracket to release the glue, since these mounting buttons always seem to fall off on a really hot, sunny day .......BUT... you would DRAMATICALLY INCREASE your chances of breaking the windshield.... Glass does not like to be heated unevenly or quickly. Another possiblity ... although I haven't tried it.... maybe Acetone would dissolve the glue. BUT... be sure none of it drips on the interior or the dashboard..... Acetone dissolves ( as in... melts ) plastic!!!How do you change a rear view mirror on a 1993 ford explorer?

  • How to fix windshield washer pump on a chevy silverado?

I have an 06' silverado and I think my windshield washer pump is broke. I have already checked my fuses and you can hear the re-lay fuse working but the pump won't turn on. How much work is involved in changing out the pump? Figured I would start with the pump first. How to fix windshield washer pump on a chevy silverado?
You might also have a plugged line. The pump is located in the front of the drivers side wheel well. just turn the wheel all the way to the right and remove the front part or all of the inner fender liner. You will see the bottle there and in towards the front of the truck is the pump mounted in the bottle side. You might have to remove the battery and the battery tray to remove a couple of bolts. Easy job just watch out for the clips that hold the fender liner because they can break easy if you remove them wrong. Good luck

Car A/C is not blowing out of front vents, but works on feet & windshield defrost, how to fix?

Just yesterday, I started smelling a burnt plastic smell and then the a/c stopped blowing through the front vents of my a/c. It still works if I change it to blow at my feet or up on the windshield's defrost. What do I need to do to fix this? Is it expensive? Also, I have a 2001 Toyota Camry.Car A/C is not blowing out of front vents, but works on feet %26amp; windshield defrost, how to fix?
That switch you use to change from the say top vents to the bottom is defective. You need to replace it, and you have to remove part of the facing on the dash to get at it.

That is what you smelled. It melted.Car A/C is not blowing out of front vents, but works on feet %26amp; windshield defrost, how to fix?
You have a shot Blend Door Actuator. Auto parts stores carry these for some cars but not for all. You might have to go to the dealer to get one. Your favorite mechanic can do the install.Car A/C is not blowing out of front vents, but works on feet %26amp; windshield defrost, how to fix?
take it to your local dealer and you will probably need a blend door actuator or door. Id say about 100 for parts and upto 500 or so in labor

How to change a Bad Starter?

This morning my 2001 Ford Tauras starter went out. A couple of days ago it took 2-3 times to start for my husband. Then this morning it just wouldn't start at all. The radio works, windshield wipers, etc. so we don't think it's the battery. Just wondering if anyone knows if this is an easy fix to do yourself and what the best options are of buying a new starter. Thank you!How to change a Bad Starter?
If the starter turns the engine over, it's not bad. If not, It could be the battery or the charging system. Make sure your battery terminal connections are clean. How to change a Bad Starter?
if your asking the question you should not be changing the starter yourself get a mechanicHow to change a Bad Starter?
I would begin by taking it to a 12 step meeting.

OK, really. You can get a book from the auto parts store for your year and make and model of car for only $20. It will have step by step instructions for your car. While the operation is fairly straight forward, there are some cars that just want to be different, and difficult. Having the exact instructions for your car is a must. After removing the starter, take it to the auto parts store and have them check it first, before replacing the whole thing. It may just be the solonoid (Fancy word for a big relay on the side of the starter) and not the starter motor itself. That could save you as much as $195 by only replacing the damaged part, and not the whole thing. How to change a Bad Starter?
Measure the battery voltage during start. If it drops significantly (under 6 volts), it's a bad battery or a bad alternator (or bad wiring to the alternator).

If it is a bad starter, you disconnect the ground lead of the battery (to keep from welding yourself to the car). then disconnect the wires on the starter, remove the starter (a few bolts, but they're tough to get started), install the new starter, replace the wires, and replace the battery wire. 5 minutes if you know what you're doing, maybe 20 if you don't.

Careful - the starter is kind of heavy. Not something you can't hold in one hand, but it can break bones if it falls on your hand.

Two problems I am struggling with?

    1. You pull on a 5 kg object with a force of 30 N. The frictional force acting on the same object is 10 N. What is the object檚 acceleration?

    2. A car traveling on Route 1 hits a bug. The sudden change in momentum for the bug splats in on the windshield. How does the change in momentum for the car compare to the bug?Two problems I am struggling with?
(1)The 10N frictional force acts opposite the force that you are applying, so the net force that is available to accelerate the object is 30 - 10 = 20N. Since the object has a 5 kg mass, the acceleration a = F/m (force/mass) = 20/5 = 4 meters per sec^2.

    (2) If we assume that the bug is standing still (i.e. zero momentum) when the car hits it, and that the car was coasting at the time, then the velocity of the car will decrease by a fraction M(bug)/[M(car) + M(bug)] in order to conserve momentum. If the bug was moving at the time, momentum is still conserved: the momentum of the bug plus the momentum of the car is constant. Two problems I am struggling with?
    1. net force is 30-10 because they're acting in opposite directions, so 20N. F=ma so, a=F/m, so a=20/5=4m/s2

    2. the car's momentum would change a very tiny fraction... the bugs momentum changes hugelyTwo problems I am struggling with?
    1N = 1kg m /s2 (second squared not times 2)

    F=M A

    (30-10) kg m /s2 = 5 kg A

    A= 4 m/s2

question two, depends on the mass of the bug.Two problems I am struggling with?
The car weighs roughly 3200 lbs or 1500 kg. Lets say it was a bee which weighs about 100mg which represents 1/10,000 kg and that the bee was travelling at a speed of 15mph. Then the resulting change in speed of the car is 1/1000,000 mph or a millionth of an mph.

How can i keep my windshield from frosting? or de-frost it fast.?

The weather is changing. Its getting colder. I drive an old ford truck that takes about 10 mins to warm up the heater. Is there a better way to clear the windshield? How can i keep my windshield from frosting? or de-frost it fast.?
Throw an old blanket over it.How can i keep my windshield from frosting? or de-frost it fast.?
The best solution is to park it in a garage. Otherwise, cover the windshield with a sheet of Visqueen (plastic) when you put it up for the night, or an old blanket or bedsheet. Stretch it as tight as you can and secure it by tucking it in the door frame and closing the door on it. That way it won't blow away. How can i keep my windshield from frosting? or de-frost it fast.?

electric Interior car warmers that have been approved to be used for this application by the appropriate agencys and Personal , have been used for this purpose ,installed in a SAFE location inside the vehicle . This not only keeps the frost off of the windshield , it also maintains the inside of the vehicle quite warm , thereby enjoying a cosy warm interior during cold weather startups. These can be purchased for around 20 bucks and the saving would be unnecessary engine idling until the vehicle engine warms up.

A sheet of visqueen cut out to a few inches larger than the windshield. It doesn't have the tendency to freeze to the glass. There is one available in auto stores that has magnets on it to hold it in place.

  • Ford windshield wash sprayer doesnt work?

I took my ford contour in early march to get an oil change. When I was done he said oh and the windshield wash sprayer wires are not right, which I knew because they only shot halfway which was frustrating. So since I got used to never using them I thought well Ill take it in when I go home again. Yesterday it rained and I thought well I will get some rainx windshield washer fluid. I put it in and nothing came out. I thought maybe since it was raining that maybe for some reason I couldnt see it. Well after a few tries nothing and this morning I tried it and then I opened the hood and looked. No fluid left. Just a little at the bottom.

I don't know how quickly it takes for it to be empty but also I dont know why there is none shooting out. Could there be a reason for this?

Also for a 98 ford is there an estimate on the cost to get this fixed and how long it would take them?Ford windshield wash sprayer doesnt work?
It sounds like the hose came off somewhere. Push the button to spray, see where it's coming out. Then look on the bottom side of the hood, you should see some black plastic tubing(it may be another color, black is the most common) going to the spray nozzles. follow it away from the nozzles. When you get to the end, connect it with the hose the fluid was coming out of when you sprayed it. If you don't see fluid coming out then there is probably a problem with the pump, fuse, switch, etc (unless the tank is empty). Hope this helps.Ford windshield wash sprayer doesnt work?
one of the pipes may be disconnected!?other than that your pumps probably gone!Ford windshield wash sprayer doesnt work?
Well, if the fluid is out that could be your problem! However, if you fill it and it still does not spray you may need a new washer pump. I dont know what model your 98 ford is, so prices will vary. Be more specific and I will be able to give you a price.

How does a driver know it's time for an oil change?

Other than the date or mileage on the sticker they place in the corner of the windshield...

I know it's OK to go a bit past both the date and mileage, but is there some sort of sign the average driver should be aware of that indicates it's time to take the car in?How does a driver know it%26039;s time for an oil change?
Newer cars have a meter that tells you when to change the oil.

Don't believe the dark oil myth: http://www.nordicgroup.us/oil.htmThe%20

Don't believe the 3000 mile oil change myth

    http://www.nordicgroup.us/oil.htmThe%20

Follow the manufacturer's recommendations. For my 1996 Honda Accord LX that means change it every 7500 miles and for my 2002 Honda CR-V it means changing it every 10,000 miles. Those mileage figures are for normal use. If my driving style was classified as severe use then I should change it twice as often. [Severe use would be towing a trailer, driving in mountainous or dusty conditions often or extensive idling or short trips etc.]

To be sure try going the distance that your manufacturer recommends and then have your oil analyzed by a lab and the results will help you determine if you should change it more often or not. I have done this myself so I know I can follow the recommended miles for normal use. BTW I use full synthetic oil but it is not required. How does a driver know it%26039;s time for an oil change?
Check the oil, if its dark or dirty looking its time. How does a driver know it%26039;s time for an oil change?
Decide how many miles you want to drive before changing the oil then use the odometer to keep track.

Your owners manual will give you an idea, usually 3000 to 5000 miles between changes. I do 5000 on my 99 Ford Ranger %26amp; hate those silly sticker the oil change folks try to put on my windshield.

My Mom has a mini- van that get driven very little. Out once a week for shopping %26amp; Bingo. I change the oil on it once a year. Her yard man keeps an eye on it for me.

You have to do what is recommended for the vehicle %26amp; what works for you. Windshield sticker, on your work calendar, on your PDA or cell phone, just keep it maintained. How does a driver know it%26039;s time for an oil change?
    Spaz,

Both answers above are accurate. Me, I pull the oil dipstick once a week, regardless of mileage. Maintenance is subjective but consistency is mandatory. Establish a regular routine.

Oil analysis is NOT rocket science. If it is dark and GRAINY, to the touch, change it.

Waiting a year, through seasonal changes, meaning environmental wear on the oil itself, may be a problem though.

How do I adjust windshield wiper timing?

I drive a Honda Civic and my windshield wipers do not return to the park position when turned off. Also, one of the wiper speeds (very slow or intermittent wipe) does not work. Does the wiper motor need to be changed or is there any way to adjust the timing? How do I adjust windshield wiper timing?
If your car is like other cars, the stub shaft where the wiper arm is attached has lots of small splines. Remove the arm and reposition it where it needs to be. Sometimes the arms get moved (at the expense of the splines) when someone turns the wipers on the they're frozen down. How do I adjust windshield wiper timing?
The wiper mechanism itself appears to be working fine.

There is a module that controls the wipers and where they land. If this goes bad, then what you are describing is common.

I don't know what year Civic you drive, but for a 98 Civic 2dr Ex, you can find the module here:

Under the passanger side wheel well. Open up the black part of the fender, peel it back, and the module is plugged into the fluid bottle.

Also, check out this website for Honda owners. It's a good place to ask questions and get ideas on other fixes for all Honda issues.

    Did they change my oil?

I took my car in for some all-day work, including an oil change. Driving home I noticed there was not a new sticker on the windshield noting when I should get it changed next (the old one was still there). Do you think they forgot to do the oil change?

On the receipt it is spelled out that they changed the oil, filter, etc... But, looking at the dipstick, it seems very dark (how should it look?). I will call and go there on Monday and have them check, but if they did forget and have to do it, should I demand my money back for overlooking something like this? Or is it a simple mistake?Did they change my oil?
It is not uncommon to not put a new sticker in the window. As far as the color of the oil, new oil can look dirty even when it is brand new since there is build ups of deposits in your engine. We had a car in today that we changed the oil and ran the vehicle. Checked the dipstick and the oil was just as dirty as the oil we took out. I would recommend stopping back into the shop you were at so that they can check for you and if they did, put in the new sticker. If they didn't do it and you paid for it, they can change your oil for you.

If they forgot to do it, I don't think they did it on purpose, it was an honest mistake. Be nice about it, don't go in raising hell.Did they change my oil?
They might have forgotten. Don't call, they won't remember you and just think it's a %26quot;woman thing%26quot;.

Go by the shop and express your concerns, if they did just forget its not a big thing.Did they change my oil?
If they indeed changed the oil, you have 2 places to look. Your oil, which you have done already, should be very golden looking, and not dark at all. Your oil filter, should look new as well with no road grime on it.Did they change my oil?
Clean oil is light brown and transparent. It was probably a mistake. Take it back and ask them about it. If they don't make it right, find a new mechanic.Did they change my oil?
The best way to know is check your oil filter. Is your oil filter or new? Or does it look old like dirty looking? As far as the oil looking dark, that don't mean anything because depending on what oil was used and the thickness of it and etc etc.

Check your oil filter, it should look brand new. As far as knowing for sure if the oil got changed, it's almost nearly impossible to know that for sure. Although more than likely if they went thru the work of changing the ouil filter, than more than likely they went thru the work of changing the oil too!

Hope that helped ya some!Did they change my oil?
They may have just missed it. You said it was in for all day work, sometimes several people will work on the same car. For instance, you could have one guy do the engine work, and another do a tire rotation and oil change. I wouldn't take the advice of it being passed off as a %26quot;woman thing%26quot;. Any reputable shop will at least look in to it, by looking at the filter as suggested by another poster. If it was missed, a good shop will do the oil change right then, and probably do your next one free. I own a shop, and that's what I would do.Did they change my oil?
IT IS ENTIRELY POSSIBLE THAT THEY OVERLOOKED THE OIL CHANGE. EITHER CALL THEM BACK OR TAKE THE CAR BACK TO THEM AND VOICE YOUR CONCERNS AND OBSERVATIONS. MOST ESTABLISHMENTS WILL NOT ONLY CORRECT THE PROBLEM, BUT ALSO REFUND THE PRICE OF THE OIL CHANGE AS AN ACT OF GOOD CUSTOMER RELATIONS.

APPROACH THEM AS IF IT WAS JUST AN OVERSIGHT, DON'T GET NASTY WITH THEM TILL YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO.

GOOD LUCK.Did they change my oil?
Checking the filter to make sure it is nice and new is a good place to start. Fresh oil is golden in color, but if you do not change your oil frequently it can get dark and brown/black pretty quick due to the dirt and grime in your engine.

Take it by the shop where you had it serviced and ask them. They should be able to show you the oil was changed (point out your new filter, etc.)

    Good luck!

This is very embarrassing and I feel very stupid for forgetting the bottle in the back seat.

if you are mechanically inclined you can try to remove the back seat and soak it with the hose, This will not damage the upholstery, but it will get rid of that horrid smell. The mat you could do the same with. It may have been permanently turned blue though.

Hope it helpsA bottle of Windshield Wiper Fluid was left in my car%26039;s back seat and burst from the heat. How do I clean it u
Well I have not much information to go on so I will just assume that your seats are either leather or vinyl, those you can just wash off with plain old warm water and a soft cloth, the mats however must be scrubbed with either dishwashing liquid and about half cup of White Vinegar then scrub with a brush if these mats have carpeting on them then it should be with a stiff brush but don't brush too hard you will tear up the pile just a gentle scrubbing action will do then rinse with hot water and allow to dry away from sunlight or heat these mats must be hung to dry Good Luck !A bottle of Windshield Wiper Fluid was left in my car%26039;s back seat and burst from the heat. use detergent or soapy water to wash the floor mats and rug maybe will help get the smell out but the rug and floor mats probably are permanently blue you should change floor mats and rug

I have never done it but I'm willing to try. I just need to get the part, because my windshield motor is fine. Can anyone help me out??How do you change out a switch for the wipers of 04 Sable?
First check the fuses for the wipers and then make sure the motor is definately good before going any further. But if is comes down to the switch, your gonna have to disassemble the column, possible having to remove the steering wheel. The switch itself shouldnt be too much and if you have any doubts about the process, go to your local parts dealer and buy a haynes or chiltons manual. This will explain step by sep on how to do it yourself. Hope this helps. How do you change out a switch for the wipers of 04 Sable?
If the 04 is like my 02, the switch is part of the turn signal switch. The bottom cover of the steering column comes off with a few screws, the turn/bright/window wiperwasher switch connects with two screws, and the plug for it is right in the back. You will just need a torx screwdriver set to get the screws out.

Sometimes removing the radio, pulling out he antenna and then putting it back in helps.

I have 96 Ford radio and something inside it just blew and now I don't get FM only AM. So maybe the factory radio just crapped out.2002 Ford Explorer - How do I know if my antenna wire is cut?
Ask your mechanic. Probably takes about 30 seconds to check.2002 Ford Explorer - How do I know if my antenna wire is cut?
The antenna probably came unplugged from the back of the radio. I had a ford that did that all the time. Someone stuck their foot to far up the floor board and it pulled it out.2002 Ford Explorer - How do I know if my antenna wire is cut?
Is your antenna integrated in to the windshield? If it's not then I doubt this wire is to your radio. The antenna wire is often run from the front fender (If your antenna is located on the front) through the firewall and in to the back of the radio on the dash. If your antenna is located on the back it will run along the floor board. in to the back of the radio. I would have the dealership take a look at it and have them determine where the wire goes. As far as the radio issue it's probably become disconnected from the back of the radio. I would check there first.

How do you know when you need to change the oil of your car?

There's a sticker on the windshield that has oil something on it but the date on the sticker is past while the mileage is above the current mileage on the car. I know u're supposed to change the oil after 3000 miles but how do I know what was the mileage when the oil was changed last time? How do you know when you need to change the oil of your car?
If your unsure then play it safe and change it,for the price of oil and the change it would be worth it,also normally the oil looks sludgy and dirty. When you have a change ask to see or have a look if you are doing yourself and the old oil to the new oil shocks me everytime and i do mine Twice every year .

Every 3000 miles is good or twice a year.

Dont forget to change the oil filter also, and you may as well change the petrol filter if you are on petrol as if you dont know when that changed also. How do you know when you need to change the oil of your car?
Keep a record. How do you know when you need to change the oil of your car?
If you don't know when the last oil change was, then its time to change it now!!! ASAPHow do you know when you need to change the oil of your car?
Subtract 3000 from the mileage on the sticker and thats the mileage when it was changed. Many oil change places want you to change the oil every 3 months........so subtract 3 months from the date shown....How do you know when you need to change the oil of your car?
Not knowing if it's yours. You may choose to change it at 3K or go to synthitic at this time. And change it at 7500.Does the oil now have a dark color to it ?If so now the time.

Once you choose to use syn. oils it is not a good Idea to change back to regular oil.

Rule of thumb is to add 3K to the speed o meter during oil service and that is writtin on the stickers. That is when next ones due.How do you know when you need to change the oil of your car?
your supposed to change the oil every 3 to four months and mileage wise your supposed to change the oil every 3,000 miles but you should go by what ever comes first. I would just check the oil if the oil is not very dark in color and its at the proper level then I would just leave it be until the car reaches the mileage on the sticker. If the oil is a little under the full level on the dip stick than I would top it off but remember if the oil is very dark or black in color than I would change it.How do you know when you need to change the oil of your car?
subtract 3000 miles from that sticker on your windshield and that will tell you, the mileage that is on the sticker is when you should have changed it again. How do you know when you need to change the oil of your car?
First of all, it is probably time for an oil change right now because of the time (More on this later) Regular oil changes are the single most important ingredient of a long life engine, so head over to an oil change place tomorrow.

If you are curious about when it was last changed, deduct 3,000 miles from the sticker. That is how many miles your car had at its last oil change. Deduct 3 months from the date on the sticker, that is the date your car had an oil change. 99% of the shops will add 3K miles and 3 month's to that day's date when they prepare the sticker.

Now back to why it is time to change the oil even though the mileage has not come yet. Miles is very well understood by people (Every 3K, 5K etc.. whatever the manual says) but if you drive little which is your case, you should also keep track of the time. Even if you do not drive your car, the properties of the oil will deteriorate over time just by the presence of the engine combustion by-products. So if you hit 3 months before 3K miles for example that should prompt you to change your oil. Whichever comes first in other words.

Having said all that, modern oils are a lot better than before. If you have passed the time a little this one time, that is probably not a big deal at all. I would not stress over it. In fact, you will notice that in the new cars the oil change interval is extending all the way to 7,500 miles or 7 months. The advances in the oils is the primary reason for this. But in the long run, sticking to a rigorous oil change routine at the frequency called by the manual is the single best thing you can do for your engine. Hope this helps. How do you know when you need to change the oil of your car?
the date on ur sticker was the day the oil was changed last.......the milage on ur sticker is when you will need it changed again.

sometimes they include the weight of the oil, brand, how many quarts it takes, and a filter numberHow do you know when you need to change the oil of your car?
well if you dont know chang it and after that it should say on the sticker. the millage number on the sticker should be the next time you need an oil change. just remember you can never change your oil to much just to little!

What keeps the windshield of the race car clean from all the dirt and rubber from the track?

I've wondered and wondered for so long, but never tried to figure it out. So now, hopefully one of you will have the answer.

I noticed when the camera shows the windshield of the car during a race, it is sometimes dirty and has tire rubber stuck to it. And then seems to change and the dirty one shifts over towards the passenger side (I know it doesn't carry passengers) and it looks like a new and clean windshield appears. How does it do that? Am I seeing things? How does the driver get his windshield cleaned during a race? Is there an automatice device that does this? What keeps the windshield of the race car clean from all the dirt and rubber from the track?
Yes, there is an automatic device that allows the in-car camera to %26quot;clean its lens.%26quot; It is essentially a roll of clear film which can be remotely advanced -- sort of like a roll of film in a camera -- in front of the camera lens, so as to provide a cleaner view when necessary. The same process is used for the roof-mounted cameras. What keeps the windshield of the race car clean from all the dirt and rubber from the track?
tear away 's the pit crew rip's off the tear away...and it is clean again..and they have more than one on it.. and that is how they keep it clean..What keeps the windshield of the race car clean from all the dirt and rubber from the track?
When you see the thing change to a clean windshield while the car was on the track , thats just the camera lens not the windshield .What keeps the windshield of the race car clean from all the dirt and rubber from the track?
Its called speed. When the air is being forced out and around the car as it is traveling 200 miles an hour ,the force is likely to blow debri right off the windows. Also, tear offs are used more for the suns glare if Im not mistaken, as the day goes on and the sunlight lessons tinted tear aways are ripped from the windshield to allow better vision. What keeps the windshield of the race car clean from all the dirt and rubber from the track?
They used to use a squeegee during pitstops. Now they have clear tear away plastic. When they pit, one of the pitmen tears away another sheet. When you see it change, thats a camera lens on the outside of the car, and I think the lens rotates. Also. they glue the lugnuts on the wheels before the race, and when they hit them with the airgun wrench, it breaks the glue and tightens the lug nut. What keeps the windshield of the race car clean from all the dirt and rubber from the track?
    TEAROFFS

Custom cut patterns designed to fit the critical areas of your race car to protect the paint and sponsor decals.

Easy to install with a squeegee, soap and water.

Stays clear and bright with no discoloration or orange peel effect

Also, front end protection kits offer the racer precut clear film paint protection that is specifically designed to cover the front end of the race car that is vulnerable to pitting and erosion from track debris and grit. The product is 8 mils thick, and is easily applied to the car with a small amount of soap mixed with water. The material stretches easily for perfect fit on the car when compound curves make the installation of competitive film more difficult. What keeps the windshield of the race car clean from all the dirt and rubber from the track?

you see the camera rotate and clear, the windshield has tear offs, hope that helpsWhat keeps the windshield of the race car clean from all the dirt and rubber from the track?
If you are talking about the camera view rather than the drivers view, they have cameras on top of the cars with a cap. it rotates, other than that its the tear offs, you must be losing it bro.lol j/kWhat keeps the windshield of the race car clean from all the dirt and rubber from the track?

How do you turn on the speed sensitive wipers in a Cobalt?

My parents bought me a cobalt a few days ago, I've heard they have speed sensitive wipers that change the speed of the windshield wipers depending on how fast you go. How do you set it to that setting to do so?

THanks. How do you turn on the speed sensitive wipers in a Cobalt?
There is no option for speed sensitive wiper system for the cobalt. There is a option for rain sensitive wipers on some of the newer model chevy trucks that turn on the wipers when the sensor on the windshield senses moisture. Most of the newer cars and trucks also have a option for speed compensated volume which has three settings to make the radio get louder the faster you drive. Most people find this option a waste of time.Best of luck with your cobalt.

Are there laws to protect against objects being deliberatly thrown at car while driving?

This morning on my way to work, a woman was riding my bumper...actually she was going 65 in 55 while car in front of me was going 50. I was too busy freaking out because she was flying behind me and wasn't slowing down so I started to speed up a little and had to hit my brakes because slow car in front of me and truck next to me. She was obviously upset, but I didn't do it intentionally. I have no problem brake checking a person if they are riding my bumper for no reason and I am going the speed limit or up to 5 above, but this wasn't the case. I had no choice but to brake or else I would've hit the lady in front of me. So anyway, I braked, she got over and started to drive at my speed since the truck was now in front of her and the car in front of me was still going slow. I looked over at her with the %26quot;What did you want me to do?%26quot; face and she pointed in my direction and said, %26quot;I got something for you!%26quot; and shortly after some change hit my windshield. There isn't any visible damage, but she could've caused an accident or cracked my windshield. This of course made me furious since I didn't do anything deliberately and she was cleary in the wrong. So I followed her and got her license plate and called 911 to report her. I never done this before so I didn't even know how they would handle it. Unfortunately in Florida it's consider Road Rage and they don't do anything about it here but take the plate and file a complaint. If there was visible damage or a cop would've witnessed it they could do more.

My problem is that she was deliberately trying to damage my car or make me scared. I don't really know what her problem was, but something serious could've happened. I had just dropped my 4 month off at daycare 15 minutes before!

Since the cops can't really do anything, what should I do? I thought that there was some kind of law to protect people...I just want her to know that you can't just speed like a bat out of hell almost cause an accident then get mad and throw crap at other cars and almost cause and accident there! Somebody could've gotten hurt.

This isn't for debate, I just want to know if anyone has gone through this? What did you do and do you know of any laws that protect the victim? The file says that one of my rights is to seek restitution from the guilty party...my husband is furious and doesn't think the matter is resolved.

    What would you do?

Are there laws to protect against objects being deliberatly thrown at car while driving?
It's very difficult to prove since it ends up being your word against hers. You could try to sue her but without criminal charges that would be an uphill battle. The best thing I can think of is lean on the police. They might follow up on or maybe just pay her a visit just to scare the snot out of her. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. I bet a visit from an angry cop will at least shake her up a bit.Are there laws to protect against objects being deliberatly thrown at car while driving?
since there really was no eye witnesses the matter can not go to court because you can not prove she threw something. Next time though if you happen to run into someone like that again just say they are rectless driving and they are going to cause an accident.

WE had to call the cops for a drunk driver supposedly we did not know if he was or wasnt but he was swerving all over the road and we called The highway patrol and we followed them until the cops could catch up with him.

I had someone do the same thing not as quite as sever as yourse though but they gave me the finger and got all mad at me because i had to stop because a big mac was turning and they were riding up my butt. but getting back to you. Since there is no damage to your car there is not much the cops can really do at this point but i would reported again and call the HIGHWAY PATROL next time not 911 and reported as rectless driving. then they will ask were you are and try to get the person themselves.

sorry this happen to you. hope you do somehow get this resolved.

How do I remove scratches in an automobile windshield?

This is a 1995 Nissan Sentra. The scratches have been caused by the windshield wipers. Apparently the previous owner neglected to change the blades periodically. How do I remove scratches in an automobile windshield?
I have some personal experience with this. The rubbing compound method won't work unless the scratches are VERY light, and even then you have to be careful, as too much rubbing wit h the abrasive rubbing compound will leave a hazy area on the glass (micro-scratches from the abrasives). You can go to your local auto glass shop and see if they can repair the wiper scratches, but even if they can (somewhat doubtful unless they're REALLY deep), the resin they use is not totally clear; you'll always be able to see the repair, even though it might make it look better short term. That kind of repair usually only works well on chips and stars.

Frankly, I'd eventually go with replacing it, because I honestly don't think you'll like the results otherwise. If it should get any further damage or develop a crack as a result of the scoring from the wiper scratches, your insurance will cover replacing it under %26quot;comprehensive%26quot; coverage. If you don't have that coverage, and can't afford a new windshield out of pocket, you can go to a salvage yard and obtain a good quality used one. Most auto glass places will install the used one for you for a modest fee (grudgingly, as they'd rather sell you a new one). Hope this info helped. How do I remove scratches in an automobile windshield?
Depending on the depth of the scratches. You could either buff them out with rubbing compound or wax.

Of you will have to use a epoxy to fill in if they are deep. I would suggest you hire someone that is trained in doing this if you are not familiar with the technique. You can make the windshield worse or cause it to need replacement.

That is a service reminder light. It comes on at preset intervals to remind you that service is needed, like oil changes. It has to be reset after service is performed. How to reset the light, and your other questions are answered in the Owners Guide and the Maintenance Guide. You can download a free copy off one of the Ford sites like www.genuineservice.com. Should I pay this much for my transmission or go somewhere else?

Hi, My name is Aaron. I have a 1994 Buick Regal with just about 73,000 miles on it. I bought it from an older couple for $3,200. I have owned it for about a year now and hasn't had any major problems.

Last 2 months ago, I just put a brand new cooling system, water pump, oil change, and windshield wiper blades for about $350. I go to a shop called %26quot;Jiffy Oil%26quot; which they know my car backwards and forwards and also give me discounts (They know my mom).

Anyways, my car started making noise so I took it to them. They knew it was my transmission, but have no skills into repairing it. They told me to go down to the transmission place next to Dairy Queen and tell them Jiffy Oil sent you and it was Mark. I said Ok and took my car down there.

The guy there at the transmissions place got in my car listened to the noise and opened the hood. He showed me exactly what the problem was. It had chunks of metal everywhere..I had no idea how it happened. He said it would run me about $1,100 to repair it as if it were brand new and would give me 12 months free repair with insurance as well. I told him I'd think about it and take my car some other places first. I went to three other places I knew. The first one said $1,600 and would be $200 extra for insurance for only 6 months. The second one said $6,800. They told me it was totally damaged, never seen anything like it before. And the third one said $9,200..they said pretty much the same thing as the second. Both did not include insurance. My dad said that is outrageous for such prices and doesn't know what to do either. My cousin, which is a Diesel/Automotive Machanic, said that the first one was a good deal and I should go with it, because my car would only sell for $500 if I wanted to sell it. Please help! Thanks everyone.Should I pay this much for my transmission or go somewhere else?

They are less expensive if you don't buy them from the manufacturer. http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Warranty-Quote.htmlShould I pay this much for my transmission or go somewhere else?
$1,000 is,nt bad for all that work. i believe i would go with that. the reason the chunks were there was they never kept the fluid and filter changed.Should I pay this much for my transmission or go somewhere else?
I would go with $1100. Why not just get a rebuilt one and exchange it. Look into that instead of going for repairs.Should I pay this much for my transmission or go somewhere else?
$1,100 is definitely a good price. Especially with the economy the way it is you're lucky to find anyone that will fix the car for under $2000. It depends on how much you love your car though if you feel you'd rather sell it then do it.

How does it work if I buy an European car from the US and import it to Europe?

I know that when someone who lives in Europe buys a car from America, the car is not approved buy the European Union according to legislations of 6/1995 and 6/1999 and thus the buyer has to pay ridiculous taxes for the car and custom-change: the windshield, all lights and much more. UNLESS the car is taken into use before June 1995. This applies for all AMERICAN cars.

But how does it work if I would buy a car that is normally manufactured in Europe, i.e. a Lamborghini from 2008, and I would buy it from the US, do all the same principles apply for this scenario?

Hope you understand what I'm searching after here.

    Simplified:

European buys American car from America -%26gt; HUGE taxes and expensive customizing

    But if:

European buys European car from America, how does it work? How does it work if I buy an European car from the US and import it to Europe?
If its the exact same car and model as the one in Europe, I don't think you need to modify it.I also think that you have to wait a period of time after buying it befre you can ship it, you should ask.

Democrats & Republicans are like Night & Day! Does anyone believe that life experiences teach us things?

That when something is studied or you are around something day after day, you pick up on patterns that may not be obvious at first? I work at a State Motor Vehicle Inspection facility, we do Safety Inspections, Emission Testing %26amp; Windshield Repair(chips and cracks, free with full coverage ins.) Differences between Liberal Democrats and Conservative Republicans are immense! We have a unique operation with a long driveway, customers wait in line until waved up. Things I notice about Liberals/Democrats:

Dirty car, evidence of smoking/drinking, vehicle not maintained, usually reading a book, bad/care free attitudes, more likely to fail inspection, especially emissions(check engine light is on and they haven't fixed it, I thought they were all about the environment!), they think that we are supposed to change their windshield for free with only liability insurance(and it's all busted up), sometimes get angry and threaten violence when they vehicle fails inspection.

    Things I notice about Conservatives/Republicans

Clean car, well maintained, friendly and usually leave a tip(Libs and Dems rarely do), usually pass inspection.

Before anyone says how do I know who's who...Very easy! Libs and Dems have Obama bumper stickers %26amp; T-shirts, they are listening to NPR on the radio, they have tatoo's and piercings, they are usually NOT working, rarely talk politics...

Cons and Reps have NRA stickers, are listening to our conservative AM station that plays RUSH and openly talk politics and their disdain for Obama.

I know this is not a 100% way to tell, but it's close and tells everything about the character and who is more important to this once great land...Democrats %26amp; Republicans are like Night %26amp; Day! Does anyone believe that life experiences teach us things?
Awesome post. When I see questions like this I wish there was some way to thumbs-up the asker.Democrats %26amp; Republicans are like Night %26amp; Day! Does anyone believe that life experiences teach us things?
Do you have to question their political standings before inspecting their cars?

You have no clue to anyone's political standing.Democrats %26amp; Republicans are like Night %26amp; Day! Does anyone believe that life experiences teach us things?
This is very true, and it is very important that people understand who we are dealing with in the leadership of this country.Democrats %26amp; Republicans are like Night %26amp; Day! Does anyone believe that life experiences teach us things?
It would appear that Cons have more $. btw isn't it against the law to %26quot;tip%26quot; state officials. I believe it is often called a bribe. Be vewy vewy careful here.Democrats %26amp; Republicans are like Night %26amp; Day! Does anyone believe that life experiences teach us things?
Okay, this is just stupid stereotyping. I fought the emissions regulations when they came to Tennessee. They are garbage. Just another way for the state to take our money.

I drive a 2002 Subaru which was emissions exempt in Colorado when I bought it. It has a check engine light perpetually on because what the idiot light wants me to fix isn't broken. I failed my last emissions test because the machine didn't like my gas cap, so I had to go buy a new one. My car is filthy, because I park it under trees and don't waste the water to wash it. It's a public bird restroom.

I'm a conservative.Democrats %26amp; Republicans are like Night %26amp; Day! Does anyone believe that life experiences teach us things?
do you really ask everyone if they are a liberal or a conservative -- come to nor cal and see your stereo types thrown out the widowDemocrats %26amp; Republicans are like Night %26amp; Day! Does anyone believe that life experiences teach us things?
Most people reading this know your claim to recognize libs or cons on sight is absurd.

Funny, yet another %26quot;renegade%26quot; Republican working as a career bureaucrat sucking on the sugar tit.

Yak all you want, you still have to look in the mirror and say %26quot;I'm a parasitic Bureaucrat!%26quot;Democrats %26amp; Republicans are like Night %26amp; Day! Does anyone believe that life experiences teach us things?
...gee thanks random internet poster without facts or strong arguments to add credibility to your ranting...you have so convinced me to change my thinking...Democrats %26amp; Republicans are like Night %26amp; Day! Does anyone believe that life experiences teach us things?
I can tell you that I would actually prefer to have public transportation, biking, and walking as suitable options for local travel. Anytime I can walk then that is what I do.

I'm a liberal democrat but I'm also an independent. I try to stay aware of the hypocrisy. I can't stand %26quot;holier than thou%26quot; attitudes and yes, we can all show them.

I never thought to tip for an inspection. I've never even heard it being done before. I don't trust auto places b/c of my experience. I have friends in the business that help and guide me. I've been learning more. It's hard b/c that kind of stuff puts me to sleep. I'm more academic than I am hands on.

My experience - it's been probably about 50/50 when it comes to a work ethic. I do think that liberals tend to be snobbier when it comes to what work they will do but some cons are that way too. I'm of the mindset - if it needs to be done and I can do it then I'm going to do it.

Actions tell what a person values. The more aware you are then the more you can change. I've been making changes. I've been committed to being more self aware. It's hard at first but I am finding it easier and so rewarding. It's freeing. I feel like I'm becoming more intelligent.

What we say - what we do - we may assume that they coincide but they don't. It's only until you are aware that you realize that you need to make some changes or accept the hypocrisy. I can't accept the hypocrisy so I seek to change. It's work. But it feels good. I think that is true of work.

A lot of liberals/dems do work but they are artists, writers, etc. You wouldn't necessarily see them working. They probably work odd hours esp if they do free lance stuff.

Liberals/Dems are more free spirits. They work. They are always thinking. I'm in MA. I think the cons are more likely to be lazy and find creative ways of not working but even that is only partially true for some. There are other reasons why that is.Democrats %26amp; Republicans are like Night %26amp; Day! Does anyone believe that life experiences teach us things?
Very good and very true!Democrats %26amp; Republicans are like Night %26amp; Day! Does anyone believe that life experiences teach us things?
Sounds like you know these Libs too good.
